McLaren-Central Michigan has established a program and facility to diagnose and treat individuals with sleep-related disorders. The Sleep Diagnostics Center can care for patients, adults and children, who have difficulties remaining awake or staying asleep, and whose most common symptoms are daytime sleepiness, night-time sleep disturbance, and snoring. Once the study has identified the problem, treatment is available.
Symptoms evaluated during the studies can include:
- Excessive daytime sleepiness
- Poor quality sleep
- Abnormal sleep/wake rhythm
- Snoring/Sleep Apnea
- Oxygenation/breathing problems
- Movements during sleep
Facilities
The Sleep Diagnostic Center houses diagnostic sleep rooms that are designed to resemble the home bedroom environment, making the rooms extremely cozy and comfortable.
Who can refer you to the Sleep Diagnostics Center?
It is recommended that patients initially see their family physician or pediatrician to arrange a sleep disorder test. Before the test is performed, a physician referral is required.
