You can live an active life with diabetes!
Where do I start, you ask?
Step One: Understand diabetes is a chronic condition.
Step Two: Learn how to manage diabetes through therapies and goal-setting.
Step Three: Enroll in Ingham’s Diabetes Self-Management Education Program!
Most individuals with diabetes find it’s not a body-friendly condition. Diabetes requires changes in eating habits, exercise, medications, insulin monitoring, emotional changes, and making this lifestyle a lifelong commitment.
Ingham’s Diabetes Management Program offers day and evening classes at 2727 S. Pennsylvania. Morning classes are held from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and evening classes are held from 6-9 p.m., on the same days. Check our events calendar for a list of current class dates. The diabetes teaching team includes a registered nurse, certified in diabetes education, a registered dietitian and a pharmacist. Our program meets American Diabetes Association national standards for diabetes self-management education.
